MISSION

The mission of our department is to cultivate understanding, knowledge and appreciation of English Language and Literature. It allows the students to get engaged with the history of language and literature during different time periods. Our modules cover the different dynamics and history of literatures in English. This degree will develop critical thinking, flowery expression and will enhance their capabilities in the field of research.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of English language and literature aims at creating a vibrant intellectual atmosphere and a network of support for its students. This program introduces students to a range of theoretical and modern approaches to literary studies. Its core modules explore the intersection of language and literature. The students will learn how to use linguistic techniques to analyze literary language. These cover a wide range of literary periods, genres and theories; this knowledge thus helps the students to prepare for their career in different mediums of life.
Nineteen full time and 5 visiting faculty members are currently working in English department to serve the purpose of the learning needs of different disciplines.
