Mass Communication studies

Communication and media studies have gained vital importance in this age of science and information technology. A nation cannot safeguard its domestic and foreign interests, and get its due status in the globe without using its communication channels effectively. Advancement in information technology has made the world a global village. So, it is the need of the hour to give special focus on mass media education.

MISSION

The mission of the Department of Mass Communication is to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence, by creating an intellectually challenging environment that stimulates critical thinking and broadens understanding of the role and responsibilities of media professionals in a diverse society. It involves a continuing effort to create opportunities for students to explore potential careers and enhance their skills in mass communication through instruction, research, and practical experiences that promote an appreciation of diversity in society.

Our Vision:

The department of Mass Communication in UOS Lahore Campus will be providing communication excellence in visual, verbal and written competencies for the 21st century.
We will:
• Provide students broad and diverse course work in advertising, journalism and new media public relations, and communication studies.
• Offer high quality educational programs which enable students to become critical thinkers and effective, ethical communicators.
• Use practical, innovative experiences and partnerships to prepare students for successful communication careers.
